Heridas invisibles. Un estudio fenomenológico sobre la percepción de la vivencia relativa al intento de suicidio desde una perspectiva física, psicológica y social en dos jóvenes del Oriente Antioqueño
This undergraduate research aimed to understand, from a personal experience point of view, how a young person feels in their body, their emotions, and their relationships after trying to take their own life. For that purpose, two women from La Unión, a town in Eastern Antioquia, Colombia, were interviewed. The results of this research have several practical implications that are worth mentioning. For clinical psychology, they serve as a reminder that symptoms like insomnia or physical pains with no medical explanation should not be seen only as medical or psychiatric issues. Instead, they should be understood as expressions with a psychosocial and biographical meaning: the body speaking about what it still cannot put into words. For postvention health programs (those that support people after a suicide attempt), these findings suggest the need to design interventions that do not just focus on stabilizing the risk.
