Resumen
The project "Urban revitalization and appropriation of public space on the Villamil Route" seeks to consolidate the urban image of Neiva through the recovery and improvement of a network of cultural public spaces. Implemented in 2003, the Villamil Route includes ten spaces designed as cultural landmarks, reflecting the urban and historical memory of the people of Huila; However, these spaces have fallen into disuse and disappropriation due to disarticulation and state abandonment, affecting both residents of the sector and the community in general of the territory. Within these ten public spaces, an articulating space called "Parque Caracolí" has been identified. ". This project aims to design a circuit and establish architectural conditions that revitalize and promote citizen appropriation of these public cultural environments. To this end, it is considered essential to understand the citizen dynamics and the causes of disappropriation; the design proposal seeks to revalue cultural architecture, with a special focus on the root monument "Parque Caracolí".
