Resumen
This project focuses on monitoring and updating the Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan (PGIRS) of the municipality of Santa Rosa de Viterbo. The PGIRS structure was analyzed, verifying the presence of programs and activities in compliance with current regulations (Decree 1077 of 2015 and Resolution 754 of 2014). Areas for development were also identified, such as updating data and providing photographic evidence. In addition, training campaigns focused on source separation were developed in neighborhoods and municipal entities. Waste collection activities and cleanup campaigns were also monitored. Records of the amount of waste generated have highlighted the need to optimize collection routes. The activities carried out are consistent with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through measures such as the incorporation of recyclers and the promotion of recovery programs, this contributes to reducing the volume of waste transported to the PIRGUA landfill and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
