Resumen
The promotion and prevention of oral health in rural populations are considered very necessary for the welfare of these families, since most of them are of limited resources and do not have health insurance to which they can have access. Objective: To promote oral health in preschool and fifth grade children of the rural school La Victoria Don Juana, Chinacota. Materials and methods: This was a descriptive/observational research with the participation of parents, preschool and fifth grade students of the rural school La Victoria in La Don Juana. In this work, an initial survey was conducted to determine the level of knowledge of oral hygiene habits of children and parents signing the assent and informed consent, at the same time a sociodemographic survey was conducted to parents to assess the quality of life and health care. Then, educational talks were developed for learning about oral health promotion, and finally, the knowledge obtained was evaluated by means of the initial survey. Results: The level of knowledge regarding good oral hygiene habits of the children and parents of the La Victoria Rural School after the intervention of the present research was good.
