Resumen
The aging of the population presents a significant challenge for healthcare systems, particularly in the comprehensive care of older adults. Objective: To design a program for the promotion and maintenance of oral health aimed at older adults of the Fundación de Ancianos María Inmaculada (Fundami). Materials and Methods: This is a quantitative, descriptive study. Informed consent was voluntarily signed by participants. Sociodemographic characteristics were identified through anamnesis, followed by the application of a diagnostic test to measure oral health knowledge levels before and after the workshops. The evaluation was conducted using the Likert scale. Subsequently, educational workshops were implemented using PowerPoint presentations, including content on brushing techniques, denture hygiene, and nutritional recommendations. Additionally, three brochures related to oral health and two educational banners were designed, and a promotion and maintenance program was developed using Canva. Results: An oral health promotion and maintenance program was designed for Fundami. It was shared with the institution’s management, caregivers, and faculty members of UAN. Oral health workshops were delivered, which contributed to improving the knowledge level among older adults. Finally, an oral health care pathway and a sustainability route for the program were created.
