Centro juvenil de reintegración social en la ciudad de Neiva, Huila

Resumen

Currently, many are unaware of the conditions in which these young people are detained after their apprehension or legal sanction. Current detention centers not only fail to meet international standards, but are truly inhospitable environments: dormitories in poor condition, poorly ventilated and very hot, with substandard finishes and structures that, far from being designed for this purpose, were forcibly adapted, proving completely inadequate for their function. This stark reality reveals a serious flaw in the conception and design of these spaces, highlighting the urgent need for change that puts the dignity and well-being of young offenders at the center. The proposed architectural draft represents an innovative approach to the design and planning of juvenile detention centers in the city of Neiva and the department of Huila. This approach seeks to transform the negative perception, distrust, and ignorance that society has toward these centers, creating a more humane and respectful space for young people in conflict with the law. The intention is that, once operational, this model will serve as a benchmark for implementation in other Colombian cities, benefiting the community with these spaces in the future.
