Percepción de 4 Psicólogos Sobre la Efectividad de las Estrategias que Emplean en la Intervención de Pacientes con Conductas Suicidas en el Municipio de Roldanillo

Resumen

This research is called “Perception of 4 Psychologists on the Effectiveness of the Strategies being Employed in the Intervention of Patients with Suicidal Behavior in the Municipality of Roldanillo.” The theoretical framework includes topics such as the generalities of suicide, applied therapeutic strategies and mental health. The methodology implemented is qualitative, in which a semi-structured interview was used to collect the impressions of the professionals, who refer in the first instance to the identification of the causes or triggers of selfharm behavior. This emphasizes that cases that correspond to endogenous causes require multidisciplinary support, specifically in the psychiatry area. Regarding the personal aspects involved in the care they provide to patients, it was identified that they produce great sensitivity, frustration and countertransference, demonstrating the need for health professionals to also be addressed regarding their personal problems. Finally, on a professional level, there are many challenges when intervening in suicide cases, involving causes, substance use, mental health history, grief, and limited support networks.
