Resumen
This research is important because it addresses a structural problem affecting the competitiveness of small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises in Colombia: informal hiring practices and their impact on cost deductions in tax returns. In the case of sugarcane SMEs in El Cerrito, Valle del Cauca, this situation generates additional costs that reduce their profitability and limit their ability to remain competitive in the market.
