Resumen
This undergraduate thesis project focuses on the design, construction, and validation of a prototype Savonius-type vertical-axis wind turbine, specifically designed to operate in areas with gentle winds and high turbulence. The process begins with the selection of a real-world site where a wind survey was conducted. This survey confirmed that the wind resource is limited and characterized by low average speeds, necessitating an optimized design to generate high torque and allow for start-up in low wind conditions
