PROTOTIPO DE RECONOCIMIENTO FACIAL PARA EL ACCESO A LA UNIVERSIDAD ANTONIO NARIÑO SEDE VILLAVICENCIO
The facial recognition prototype for access to the Antonio Nariño University in Villavicencio arose in response to the need to improve verification of the educational community when entering the university. This prototype is a combination of hardware and software to validate the identities of a test group of 10 individuals in a controlled environment using an embedded Raspberry Pi 5 system, HD camera, and screen. During the development of the project, technical challenges were faced, such as the development of the facial recognition system using convolutional neural networks, embeddings, and other techniques that would be coupled with the training resources, the type of extension for the model to be used, the choice of hardware, the camera to achieve the best capture, the homogenization of the dataset, and the migration of the training system to the execution system, among others. With this developed, a functional prototype was created in the embedded system, under a controlled environment that allowed facial recognition to be performed on the test group.
