Resumen
The study analyzes how institutionalized older adults (aged 65–85) manage to adapt to life in a nursing home. Using a qualitative approach with a focus group, the main factors that facilitate this adaptation were identified: emotional and spiritual support, communication with other residents and staff, occupational activities, contact with family, and the quality of institutional care. These elements contribute to well-being, autonomy, and quality of life, making the transition to institutionalization more positive.
