Resumen
This project was carried out at Artundama S.A.S., a company dedicated to processing MDF wood for the production of items such as breakfast boxes, pet houses, and beds. The proposal focuses on a plant layout redesign and process improvement using Lean Manufacturing tools, with the goal of optimizing material flow, reducing waiting times, and eliminating waste. Based on an initial assessment that included surveys and route analysis, critical waste (muda) was identified, such as overproduction, unnecessary transport, and defects. Two layout proposals were developed using the Single-Point Planner (SLP) method, and the most suitable one was selected due to its ability to reduce distances by up to 47.83% and cycle times by 14.1 minutes. Additionally, a strategic plan based on 5S and autonomous maintenance was designed to standardize and sustain the improvements. The partial implementation of this proposal will increase productivity, minimize costs, and improve the organization's competitiveness.
