Crecimiento económico y transición energética en Colombia, entre el año 2000 a 2020

Resumen

In recent decades, the world has shown a remarkable concern for the environment and has begun a process of energy transition. Multiple studies relate economic growth and energy demand, however, few studies focus on energy generation. Thus, in this work, a methodology is developed to identify sources of energy supply and electricity production that are significant in the energy matrix of the country and that allow glimpsing a unidirectional causal relationship with economic growth. This is done through the exploratory analysis of the data and the identification of spurious correlations. The results found indicate that there is no unidirectional causal correlation between the energy supply and electricity production variables and economic growth in the country.
