Resumen
This article will discuss the family and its indispensable role in addiction treatment, the vital importance of family involvement in successful treatment and recovery, and the modification of family dynamics that contribute to rehabilitation. A key focus is the role of professionals who train, guide, and support the support network, who often have limited knowledge of the illness and are in the process of acquiring the tools to understand and strengthen recovery. Social work is also highlighted as a relevant profession for supporting social and family processes and enhancing the protective factors of the rehabilitated individual.
