Características psicológicas en relación al sexo en adolescentes de una institución educativa que practican fútbol de salón.

Resumen

The present study on the psychological and gender characteristics of a group of adolescents between 11 and 15 years of age from an educational institution, aimed to determine the psychological characteristics in relation to gender of this population, with an empirical, analytical, quantitative epistemological approach and descriptive design, contributed authors such as Deci and Ryan (1985), Chicaiza et al. (2023) and Ortegón and Raba (2024); the instrument used was the Questionnaire of psychological characteristics related to sports performance by Buceta et al. (1999), which measured stress control, performance evaluation, motivation, mental ability and team cohesion. The results showed a variability in stress control and performance evaluation, indicating that while some athletes handle pressure adequately, others do not; on the contrary, motivation and mental ability showed low dispersion, which suggests that adolescents share goals and skills such as concentration. Regarding team cohesion, dispersion was found to be low, while group unity was observed. Regarding gender, there was no significant variation in athletic performance, except for motivation, which had a significant score by gender, which coincides with the increasing participation of women in this sport. Concluding that the research contributes to the field of sports psychology, emphasizing the importance of psychological assessment support in the trajectory of adolescent indoor soccer players
