Resumen
Crohn’s disease (CD) is a chronic inflammatory bowel condition with increasing prevalence, characterized by its systemic impact and the presence of extraintestinal manifestations, including articular involvement. Although oral manifestations such as ulcers and stomatitis are well known, the specific relationship between CD and the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), as well as its implications for orthodontic treatment, has been little explored. Given the similarity in inflammatory pathophysiology between periodontal disease and CD, it is possible that the TMJ may also be compromised, creating a clinical challenge for dental management.
