Resumen
Polymer concrete is considered a viable option for the construction sector in developing countries due to its mechanical properties and its potential to reduce environmental impact. This work presents the design and evaluation of polymer concrete mixes reinforced with recycled PET fibers, through flexural and indirect tensile strength tests. Specimens were prepared with a composition of 15% by volume of epoxy resin, 85% of fine and coarse aggregates, and a PET fiber concentration of 16%, in addition to control specimens of conventional concrete. The results show a decrease in the strength of the fiber-reinforced specimens, although improvements in their properties are observed through curing processes.
