Revisión del estado del arte de fitorremediación de suelos contaminados con mercurio para zonas afectadas de Choco

Resumen

Mining has been practiced in Colombia for years, and the country's wealth has led its leaders to include it as a latent engine driving the national economy. However, the lack of controls and the indiscriminate exploitation of resources have resulted in serious environmental damage and harm to the health of the population. An example of this is the aquifer mining used for gold extraction; the departments of Antioquia, Bolívar, and Chocó are the most affected, as they are the largest gold producers. (Ombudsman's Office - Colombia, 2010).
