Resumen
This thesis addresses the design of a transition and update plan for the Environmental Management System (EMS) of the Avianca Workers' Cooperative (COOPAVA) to meet the requirements of the ISO 14001:2015 standard. COOPAVA, a multi-service cooperative with a presence in 10 Colombian cities, initially considered this challenge as a requirement of its main client, Avianca, and subsequently as an institutional commitment to sustainability. The new version of the standard incorporates profound structural changes, such as the consideration of the life cycle, the analysis of the organizational context, and the management of risks and opportunities. For the development of the project, a diagnostic methodology was implemented using a detailed checklist, which revealed that the organization's EMS was 54.81% compliant with the new standards. Based on these results, a work plan was structured that defines the activities necessary to achieve 100% compliance. The implementation of this plan ensures the update of the EMS by November 2017, allowing COOPAVA to successfully face the certification audit scheduled for February 2018, well ahead of the global transition deadline stipulated for September 2018.
