Resumen
The following project proposes an analysis of the effect of nitriding temperature on the mechanical and microstructural properties of gray cast iron. The nitriding treatment consists of introducing nitrogen into the surface of the gray cast iron, which allows for surface hardening. This thermal process is carried out at temperatures of 550 °C, 560 °C, 570 °C, 580 °C, and 590 °C with a nitriding time of 4 hours.
