Resumen

This preliminary project is focused on the design of a Motor Control Center (MCC) and a power distribution board for an industrial coffee roasting machine with a capacity of 1.8 ton/h, aiming to improve energy efficiency. The main issue lies in the use of traditional star-delta starting systems in high-power motors, which generate high current peaks, increased energy costs, and mechanical wear. As an alternative, the proposal includes the implementation of a soft starter in the roaster motor and a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) in the cooling motor. These technologies optimize electrical consumption, extend equipment lifespan, and enhance the sustainability of the production process.
