Resumen
The number of pets in homes worldwide has increased, and Bogotá is no exception. This has led to a significant rise in veterinary emergencies, particularly for dogs. The lack of guides, courses, or tools providing first aid knowledge for individuals without veterinary training hinders timely and immediate care in critical situations, decreasing the animal's chances of survival. Therefore, the main objective was to develop a first aid protocol for first responders facing the most common canine emergencies. This was achieved through a literature review and a survey of veterinarians who have worked in veterinary emergency services in Bogotá.
