Resumen

This project reviews and analyzes consumption and recycling through explorations in the city of Bogotá, specifically in the outlying districts of Chapinero and Kennedy. These are the primary areas where the essential materials for this artistic project—plastic waste— were found. Through research, we can identify the origins of plastic, understand its main functions, how it was used, when its consumption became widespread, and when it became an environmental problem. It is also important to note when plastic arrived in Colombia and how its production emerged in different cities, including Bogotá, the capital city comprised of 20 districts. Specifically, two outlying districts (Chapinero and Kennedy) are mentioned, as these are the areas where all the reflective material was collected.
