Resumen
Animal welfare education is a pedagogical approach based on scientific foundations such as the Five Domains model and the One Health strategy, which have been promoted by some academics to develop empathy towards animals to improve the relationship between humans and their environment. This approach has recently motivated the enactment of new laws requiring its inclusion in educational guidelines, as most educational centers in Colombia have not yet implemented it, reflecting shortcomings in environmental education.
