Resumen
Workplace absenteeism refers to an employee's absence or failure to be present at their workstation during scheduled working hours, encompassing both justified absences (such as medical leave) and unjustified ones. It negatively impacts company productivity and profitability, stemming from factors such as stress, burnout, health issues, or a toxic work environment (1). The World Health Organization (2) has shown that, globally, workdays lost due to illness account for a significant proportion of total working time, with Europe recording the highest rates.
