Resumen
Solid waste is generated as a result of any type of human activity; an uncontrolled increase in such waste has been observed, and it has emerged as a major issue affecting both the environment and human health (RIVERA, 2009). Schools are major generators of solid waste; the excessive volume of refuse results in an uncontrollable loss of materials, even though most of them could be reused through proper management, thereby contributing positively to the environment.
