Calidad de vida y exclusión social en Cartagena de Indias: un análisis desde el trabajo social de los indicadores de la encuesta de percepción ciudadana 2025

Resumen

This article analyzes the indicators from the 2025 Citizens Perception Survey (EPC) conducted by Cartagena Como Vamos, from the epistemological and disciplinary perspective of social work. The study adopts a documentary-descriptive methodological approach with a critical and intersectional perspective, applying secondary data critical analysis on a sample of 1,071 residents in the urban and continental rural area of Cartagena. Results reveal that the city Revealed Quality of Life Index stands at 5.05/10, classified as 'low/critical' level according to the threshold scale adapted by Cartagena Como Vamos. Structural gaps are identified in dimensions such as security (53% insecurity perception, an increase of 13 percentage points compared to 2024), food insecurity (41% of affected households), employment (63% perceive difficulty in finding work), and health (waiting times exceeding ten days for 45% of citizens). The intersectional analysis shows that women, low-income residents, and inhabitants of Locality 2 (La Virgen y Turística) concentrate the greatest vulnerabilities. From a social work perspective, intervention guidelines are proposed focused on activating community networks, care policies, and advocacy for local public policies. It is concluded that the city requires a structured social welfare agenda that transcends the sectoral fragmentation of public intervention
