Resumen
This paper aims to analyze the behavior of rice imports during the period 2016-2021 and the impact on the Colombian economy. It highlights the factors that have the greatest impact on the Colombian agricultural sector; the factors that determine why domestic agriculture, even with high quality and significant productivity, costs much more than imported products. This is due to variables that affect not only local producers but also the end consumer.
