Resumen
Bees are fascinating creatures that play a critical role in pollinating crops and plants around the world. However, in recent years, there has been increasing concern about the animal welfare of bees due to a number of factors, such as climate change, pollution, agricultural practices. The objective of this work was to characterize internal and external parameters of the colonies of Africanized Apis mellifera bees in the apiary of the Antonio Nariño University, Usme headquarters, in which parameters related to health and nutrition in the hives were identified, to determine the association between varroa infestation and age of the queen in the hive, compare the variation of internal and external parameters in the hives such as temperature and humidity, evaluate the association of parameters such as humidity and internal temperature related to the location of the hives .
