Resumen
The evaluation of semen quality is crucial in the selection of males and in the management of breeding programs. Although conventional analyzes may have predictive limitations, certain parameters such as sperm motility and morphology are correlated with fertility. Recent studies on sperm photostimulation have revealed benefits in various species, increasing the motility and fertilizing capacity of sperm. Although the exact mechanisms are not fully understood, it is suggested that red light exposure may improve semen quality by modulating cellular processes, such as mitochondrial activity.
