Resumen

Considering a three-stage periodization of the relationship between business, state and community, in this case report it is argued that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) during the phase of flexible capital accumulation is a way of underpinning the very "development" proclaimed by the international community of the UN. This communion between the proclamations of the international community and corporations is achieved through two notions: sustainability and human capital. This was embodied in the Global Compact to which both corporations and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) subscribed. Then, the aim of this paper is showed that ties between state, companies and community is sharp with same rhetoric of an ONU. An analysis with qualitative methodology of the CSR policy of an electricity distribution company that is part of the Global Compact Argentina shows that corporate ethics are more focused on internal vigilance and strict control of confidentiality than on commitment to the organization’s environment. That this is the profile of CSR stands out because it is a company linked to a human right: the right to energy.
