Innovation in the sports industry in Santiago de Cali, 2024

Resumen

Sport is configured as an industry of great growth, marked by professional, amateur and recreational practice, generating a value chain that converges in companies and ventures, with innovation being a constant need.  Therefore, the objective of this research was based on identifying its appropriation by the sports industry, based on a quantitative investigation and as an instrument for collecting information, a survey based on a Likert scale was used with a sample of 280 companies in the city of Santiago de Cali, data processed through the statistical software SPSS in its version 26 with the suite of complex samples, results taken to a univariate analysis, having the weighted average as a statistical method for the information process and the chi square test to demonstrate the proposed hypothesis, which revolves around the non-identification of innovation processes by this industry. Among the results, it was possible to identify some approaches to innovation processes, focused on changes and improvements to products and services, followed by changes in production processes, with medium-sized companies being the ones that have the best perception of innovation in their processes, concluding how some factors such as the need for impact on the market and the size of the company drive innovation.
