Aprendizaje experiencial con prototipos de fauna arrecifal en población con discapacidad visual
This research exercise sought to determine the learning experience of six people with visual disabilities through prototypes of animals that live in coral reefs such as sea sponge, polyp, jellyfish, snail and ophiuro, elements that were articulated to a multisensory stimulation activity that was executed at the National Institute for the Blind - INCI. As a result of the activity, the participants' responses to the prototypes, the researcher's observations and the pre and post intervention interviews were compiled. Starting from the grounded theory, four deductive categories emerged: perception, association, learning and inclusion, the first one due to its predominance in the data was structured as the axial category of the results. As research findings, it was identified that participants make mental relationships of the information obtained from their environment, through the perception of tangible physical characteristics such as texture or thermal sensation, this perception can be carried out both by an autonomous tactile reading or directed, the latter being relevant since it allows giving an order to the interaction of the participant with their environment. Similarly, the assimilation of information is also based on the association of new information with personal experiences, as well as relating to previous concepts. In terms of learning reflections, these arise from categories such as deduction, appropriation, question development or answering questions from other participants. Inclusion was a category that emerged in the context of the semi-structured interview after the activity and demonstrates the way in which the individual relates to the environment regardless of their physical characteristics.
