Características antropométricas en deportistas en formación del municipio de Tocancipá

Introduction: child care guidelines direct the monitoring of growth and development processes for health promotion throughout the age cycle, promoting evaluation processes in the context of formative sport, to optimize the development of motor skills according to the population characteristics. Objective: To determine the anthropometric characteristics according to body mass index and fat percentage in formative athletes of the Municipality of Tocancipá. Materials and Methods: A quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental and cross-sectional research project was carried out. the anthropometric variables of weight, height, body mass index and fat percentage were assessed. Results: 146 participants, between 9-17 years old, 95 boys (65.07%) and 51 girls (34.93%), belonging to 7 sports modalities (basketball, cycling, mountain biking, football, cheerleading, table tennis and volleyball.) Percentile ranges and behavior curves are established in each variable associating the behavior by sex. Conclusion: In the variable body weight, an average of 42.81 kg is established for boys and 45.23 kg for girls. The height reported for boys and girls an average is 150cm. The behavior in the variable of fat percentage for boys is 16.52% and for girls 24.27%. Normal BMI in the 53%, 44% underweight and 3% overweight in all of participants. BMIzscore normal 73%, 12% malnutrition, 11% overweight and 4% in obesity, this index allows to identify the real behavior of the level of health in the participants
