Uveitis is the inflammation of the uvea, caused mainly by infectious agents such as Leptospira pomona, Streptoccocus equi, and Pseudomona spp., Among others, as well as viruses, fungi, parasites and non-infectious causes such as traumas, or pathologies of origin. autoimmune This disease is frequently diagnosed in veterinary ophthalmology. Early diagnosis and the immediate establishment of a therapeutic protocol are essential to avoid irreversible complications. The clinical picture presents with epiphora, blepharospasm, hypopyon and severe eye pain due to inflammation; the treatment is mainly based on corticosteroids and NSAIDs and the placement of a subpalpebral probe to favor the application of ophthalmic drugs, or surgically, with the implantation of a cyclosporin disc, or in more extreme cases the enucleation of the balloon ocular. In this case report, an equine patient of Spanish race who had acute anterior uveitis who underwent medical treatment was carried out, implementing the placement of a subpalpebral tube for the administration of medications.
