Estudio de casos de alteraciones auditivas y vestibulares con fármacos reportados en Bogotá D. C. 2008-2018
The auditory and vestibular damages caused by the administration of ototoxic drugs are a threat that affects both children and adults, generating a deficient cognitive development and delay in speech, learning and language in the case of children. Many of the ototoxic drugs play an important role in the treatment of serious or life-threatening diseases and offer important therapeutic effects, so that the risk of ototoxicity can be considered minor. The incidence of ototoxicity cases may increase, because some of these drugs are highly effective and low cost, so they are easily accessible without having any adequate control. This is why the present research work seeks to characterize the adverse reactions of drugs reported in Bogotá in the period 2008 to 2018. For this, a type of non-experimental-descriptive study with a quantitative cross-sectional approach was used since it was based on in reports of auditory and vestibular alterations which were reported in the District Pharmacovigilance Program in the city of Bogotá. Where a total of 88 cases were obtained, in which it was possible to demonstrate that the pharmacological groups with the highest prevalence are (Monoclonal Antibodies, aminoglycosides, antineoplastic, being the most frequent adverse reaction Otalgia, followed by Tinnitus.) It is concluded that the seriousness of the cases reported is of the Non-serious-moderate type since the patient's life was not compromised, however, the importance of the therapeutic treatment existed.
