Aspectos anatómicos foliares del kiwi (actinidia deliciosa cv. Hayward)

An anatomical study of the leaves of the kiwifruit, Actinidia deliciosa cv Hayward, was made. The biological material was obtenned from a fíeld crop in Chocontá, (Departamento de Cundinamarca). Transversal sections including border and main nervures were obtained from hand made cuts but also using a microtom. This material was properly stained and fixed to be observed under microscopy. The results showed that the kiwifruit leaves are classified as mesofilas and correpond to typical mesomorphic, although there ares some xeromorphic features. Interestingly, the leaf is biface and hypostomatic.
