Efecto de los agrotóxicos en la salud de los trabajadores de Mesitas del Colegio, Cundinamarca

Resumen

Objectives: Evaluate the effects of agrotoxics in the health of flower growers. Methodology: This project was framed as a descriptive cross-sectional study that employed a morbidity survey up for 43 workers of a floricultural company in the municipio de Mesitas del Colegio – Cundinamarca, with which the findings are related in the study population with the exposure of chemical agents used for pest control in flower crops, the above in order to propose improvements in protection measures to reduce the health effects on flower growers. Results: A review of the scientific literature for the identification of the toxicokinetic and toxicodynamic processes of the main substances found in floriculture was carried out, subsequently the analysis the data was made based on measures of central tendency which allowed a sociodemographic characterization of the study population, and an ANOVA analysis of variance in the SPSS statistical program, observing that the majority of effects were presented by the exposure of abamectin and carbamates, likewise, the most prevalent symptom was headache followed by respiratory symptoms and with less frequency the presence of gastrointestinal symptoms that were associated with exposure with imidacloprid. Conclusion: Although there are basic methods of protection, proper implementation and continuous use of these allow to reduce the harmful impact on the health of workers, so it is very important to manage health promotion and prevention programs to propose improvements in the use of necessary elements for the application of substances in pest control, to guarantee the activity of the flower growing industry.
