Resumen
The artificial wetland "Tingua Refuge Green Peak" was created about 20 years when adjusted the pond in UDCA’s northern headquarters. As college became more recognized for the quality of its academic programs, was increasing the number of students who had contact with the wetland, creating disturbances. In this way we see that the social representation that has the student body about wetland located in UDCA is not clear, in this sense was found appropriate to conduct an investigation to identify the social representation of the wetland in a college students whose axis of performance and promotion is environmental. For the study of social representation, some categories were validated with help of experts in environmental issues supported in some subcategories, out of which emerged a constructed using Likert scale questions, which were used to obtain information of the meanings attributed to undergraduates northern headquarters of UDCA. Both socio-demographic parameters as Likert scale questions were analyzed using descriptive statistics and statistical association, and finally to identify the structure of representation analysis was used in international ranking by correlation groups to obtain a central nucleus representation and peripheral ideas. Found inclined central nucleus leaning the position of the students "positive" of wetland, with a relative weight in total participants 78.9%, where the idea of contributing with 55.6% satisfaction and acceptance of the wetland with 23.3%, we infer that gear is due to several factors that generate a benefit to students, predominantly fading optimism and ideas partly negative (rejection, convenience and indifference), with a weight of only 21.1 % of the total. A study to understand the meanings ascribed related to an artificial ecosystem, will not only establish the value added generated in the population but also generate initiatives for the adequacy of this type of space
