Arquitectura de transmisión de datos por medio de fibra óptica en RoF 5G con polarización óptica para múltiples subportadoras de radiofrecuencia

Forero Durán, David SantiagoAsesor: Puerto Leguizamón, Gustavo Adolfo

The growing demand for connectivity, transmission capacity, and efficiency in mobile networks has made 5G systems essential for the development of modern telecommunications. In this context, it is necessary to design architectures that allow for expanding system capacity without significantly increasing implementation costs or operational complexity. Radio over fiber technology presents itself as a viable alternative by combining the advantages of optical communications with the flexibility of wireless networks, promoting efficient signal distribution in high-density user environments. The proposed system demonstrates that the integration of optical modulation techniques, polarization control, and spectral filtering allows for the transmission of multiple information tones while maintaining adequate power levels and signal quality. The results obtained show that system performance is maintained under different frequency and transmission distance conditions, confirming its viability for 5G network applications. Furthermore, it is argued that optimizing power distribution and proper spectral management are key factors in increasing the architecture's scalability without affecting its overall performance. Consequently, the proposal represents a technically efficient solution with growth potential, capable of meeting future demands for coverage, capacity, and quality of service in advanced communications environments.
