Cardiovascular diseases continue to represent one of the main challenges to public health due to their high incidence and mortality worldwide. Among the numerous conditions that comprise them, atrial fibrillation stands out for its close relationship with serious cardiovascular events and for being one of the most frequent causes of sudden cardiac death. This heart rhythm disorder affects the heart's ability to contract in a coordinated manner, increasing the risk of complications that significantly compromise patients' quality of life and life expectancy. The magnitude of this problem demands the development of strategies aimed at the early detection and continuous monitoring of cardiac abnormalities. In this context, technological advances have generated new possibilities for strengthening prevention and timely diagnosis through accessible and easy-to-use tools. The development of signal processing algorithms, along with the incorporation of wearable devices and mobile applications, has expanded the capacity to monitor the cardiovascular status of the population. Technologies such as photoplethysmography and electrocardiography facilitate the identification of patterns associated with arrhythmias, contributing to more efficient monitoring of heart health. Consequently, the integration of technological solutions into detection processes can promote early interventions, reduce clinical complications, and contribute to decreasing the social and health burden resulting from cardiovascular diseases
