Principales aportes de la economía circular al campo de la administración ambiental en Colombia

Leguizamón Cuadrado, Oscar FabiánAsesor: Díaz Rodriguez, Carlos

The circular economy represents a key alternative to the traditional linear model of production and consumption, promoting efficiency in the use of natural resources and reducing environmental impacts. In Colombia, the adoption of this approach has been driven by the ‘Estrategia Nacional de Economía Circular ‘(ENEC) and regulations such as Law 2232 of 2022 and Resolution 0803 of 2024, which encourage reuse, recycling, and sustainable innovation. This documentary research describes the main contributions of the Circular Economy to the field of Environmental Management, analyzing its conceptual evolution, the policies implemented at national and international levels, and its integration with the strategic axes of environmental administration. Based on a bibliographic and normative review, the study shows that the circular economy provides tools that strengthen public and private management, promote environmental governance, and guide the transition toward more sustainable production models. The findings emphasize the need to consolidate more comprehensive policies, improve circularity indicators, and enhance collaboration between productive sectors, government, and academia. It is concluded that the circular economy is not only an environmental strategy but also a management paradigm that contributes to sustainability, social equity, and national competitiveness.
