Civic education aimed at peacebuilding represents a fundamental strategy for strengthening the holistic development of children and adolescents in contexts of social vulnerability. in this framework, the experience gained at the in-ju huellas foundation demonstrates that integrating peace education, critical mathematics, and participatory action research fosters pedagogical processes capable of promoting leadership, social coexistence, and social transformation. through the "escuela pazarte" initiative and the "children weaving peace" project, activities are promoted that strengthen socio emotional skills, critical thinking, and active student participation in building more peaceful communities. the internship made it possible to systematize educational experiences implemented across various regions using virtual strategies, demonstrating that contextualized, participatory learning expands access to quality educational opportunities. furthermore, using mathematics as a tool to understand and analyze local issues contributes to the development of reflective capabilities and responsible decision-making. overall, the experience shows that educational approaches centered on community participation and the recognition of local contexts strengthen meaningful learning, promote inclusion, and create favorable conditions for improving quality of life and consolidating a culture of sustainable peace
