Caracterización del fitoperifiton en tres estaciones de muestreo del humedal la vaca (sector sur), Bogotá

Bello Cárdenas, Angie SofíaAsesor: Giraldo Quintero, Gustavo

Urban wetlands play an essential role in biodiversity conservation, water regulation, ecological connectivity, and climate change mitigation; consequently, studying them is indispensable for guiding management and restoration strategies. in this context, the la vaca wetland in bogotá is facing degradation processes linked to human activities that affect its ecological functioning and water quality. to provide information for its management, the phytoperiphyton assemblage was characterized at various sampling stations across two climatic seasons, evaluating its relationship with key physicochemical variables of the ecosystem. the data obtained were organized and analyzed using multivariate statistical tools, enabling the identification of patterns in microalgal composition and distribution. a total of 77 morphospecies were identified, spanning six phyla, seven classes, 26 orders, 37 families, and 56 genera; heterokontophyta stood out for its richness, while cyanobacteriophyta was notable for its abundance. furthermore, a significant relationship was observed between the assemblage structure and variables such as electrical conductivity, as well as the presence of characteristic genera like oscillatoria and dolichospermum. these results demonstrate that phytoperiphyton serves as an effective bioindicator of environmental conditions and provides a reliable baseline for ecological monitoring, water quality assessment, and the environmental management of urban wetlands
