Resumen
This internship aimed to contribute to the management of the self-evaluation process of the Biology Teaching Degree Program (PALB) at the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas through the collection, systematization, analysis, and dissemination of information corresponding to the 2024–2026 period. The work was developed under a participatory, documentary, and analytical approach, in accordance with the institution’s Systemic Model of Self-Evaluation and Self-Regulation. The methodology comprised three phases: preparation and assignment of self-evaluation factors, application of instruments and information collection, and analysis of evidence and presentation of results. Institutional records, meeting minutes, agreements, academic mobility records, and research seedbed information were reviewed, and digital questionnaires were administered to students, faculty members, and graduates. The results show significant progress in curriculum updating, highlighting the review and adjustment of 100% of the program syllabi, the incorporation of bibliography in other languages, mainly English, and the transversal integration of information and communication technologies into teaching and learning processes. Likewise, a favorable perception was identified regarding the program’s disciplinary and research training; however, opportunities for improvement remain in curricular flexibility, pedagogical strategies, assessment processes, articulation with the social environment, and the strengthening of institutional conditions that support the educational experience. The internship made it possible to consolidate evidence for the technical self-evaluation report, formulate recommendations aimed at continuous improvement, and strengthen communication of the process’s progress to the academic community, thereby contributing to quality assurance and the consolidation of a culture of self-regulation within the PALB.
