Resumen
The objective of this text is to understand and explain the popular character of the Mexican 1968 through the study of the testimonies of teachers – from Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM)–who participated in the events. We propose an analysis at ground level by introducing ourselves into their everyday life we observe and analyse the actions that originated from social sectors that stood by and supported the movement. Furthermore, we analyse their link to the cycle of Latin American struggles of the seventies.
