Condiciones de vida de enfermeros y auxiliares de enfermería en un hospital municipal en relación con el proceso perioperatorio
This thesis undertakes an ethnographic investigation to analyze the living conditions of nurses and nurses assistants operating in the perioperative service of a regional hospital in Cundinamarca, Colombia. The data production delved into three contexts-scenarios associated with the perioperative process: the geographical and historical drama, the workplace context drama and the drama of the extra-work context. The perspective of retirees was included to obtain a comprehensive understanding, covering both the work experiences in the E.S.E. hospital and after their retirement. The primary aim in exploring these contexts was to understand the situations surrounding the workers' daily lives and, therefore, their well-being. The qualitative data acquired underwent thorough analysis and categorization, culminating in a final product. This product, titled “Centinela: Condiciones de vida”, is based on the ethnodrama methodology and aligns with the current known as performative ethnography. Through this theatrical piece, our intent was not solely to inform but also to socialize the real circumstances that are affecting this specific group of healthcare workers. The analysis uncovered that these circumstances, predominantly problematic, significantly pertain to the realm of occupational health and safety. This study underscores the urgency of addressing and enhancing conditions in a sector pivotal to collective well-being.
