Bilingualism in Montessori pedagogy: implementation in a private school in Santa Rosa de Cabal

The project uses the framework of action research, which is conceived as an extension activity, and is adapted to the context of the foundation la casa de los niños — Liceo Maria Montessori Project, located in Santa Rosa de Cabal. The project characterizes the implementation 3 of Montessori pedagogy through the integration of bilingual communicative practices and materials in Montessori classrooms for children in Santa Rosa de Cabal — Risaralda with a focus on examining the process used to incorporate bilingual education within this educational model. The action-research cycle includes the interconnected phases of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. In the planning phase, the researchers identify a problem or an area of improvement, design a structure, set objectives, and decide what steps are needed to collect data. Next is the acting phase, during which the plan is put into place via these interventions as they engage directly with participants or the environment to see how the proposal unfolds in practice. That is followed by observing, where the researcher gathers information about the processes and results of the intervention in order to glean insights into its effectiveness. The final step is the analyzing of results in the reflecting phase to measure the degree of success of the intervention and expose areas needing improvement. This reflection then informs the next cycle of planning and action so that this could go on as a continued process for further refinement and adaptation.
