Incorporating Cartoons to Foster Phonological Awareness and Basic Listening Skills in Second-Grade Students in a Public School in Pereira

This classroom project explores the potential impact of using cartoon-based listening activities to foster phonological awareness in primary students learning English as a foreign language in a public school in Pereira. The project was developed with second-grade students through the implementation of a didactic sequence comprising multiple lessons that integrated visual narratives. Furthermore, it adopted a qualitative approach grounded in reflective practices and classroom observations. Data were collected through students’ artifacts, teachers’ observations, and reflective journals.
