An analysis of the influence of the use of generative artificial intelligence in the implementation of bilingual learning experience executed by a group of 9th-semester preservice teachers in the project CHANGE
This research project was conducted within the framework of the CHANGE project at public schools in Pereira, Colombia. The study aimed to identify the influence of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) on the implementation of bilingual pedagogical practices by a group of ninth-semester pre-service teachers. Data was collected through non-participant classroom observations, document analysis, and semi-structured interviews. The collected data were subsequently triangulated to ensure credibility and depth of interpretation. Findings revealed that pre-service teachers primarily employed GenAI as a supportive tool, with its use being mediated by their instructional objectives and classroom context. Furthermore, participants demonstrated an emerging sense of pedagogical awareness The study highlights the potential of GenAI to improve time efficiency and lesson design in bilingual education contexts while emphasizing the continued importance of teacher autonomy and reflective practice.
